9-Step Fuel Delivery Guidelines (International Standard)
Following these procedures ensures that every fuel handling operation is conducted safely, efficiently, and with minimized risk of contamination or accidents.1. Contact Site Personnel
- Request permission to enter the site for fuel delivery
- Follow instructions provided (e.g., registration, ID issuance, or contacting relevant personnel)
2. Prepare the Vehicle
- Park the vehicle securely
- Apply the handbrake
- Turn off the engine completely
- Lock the right-side door
- Place wheel chocks
- Prepare a fire extinguisher
- Connect the grounding cable from the vehicle
3. Verify Documentation
- Driver provides name, address, and delivery location
- Submit fuel delivery documents for inspection
- Receiving staff verifies documents before unloading
4. Check Seals and Seal Numbers
- Confirm the correct fuel compartment
- Inspect valve seals and verify seal numbers
5. Verify Fuel Type
- Close the foot valve
- Prepare a metal container for sampling/checking fuel
6. Inspect Tanker and Receiving Tank
- Receiving staff and driver jointly measure and verify fuel levels before unloading
7. Connect Hoses and Control Fuel Transfer
- Properly and securely connect delivery hoses
- Connect grounding at the receiving point before connecting to the discharge point
- Ensure vapor recovery hose is properly connected
- Receiving staff must approve each compartment/tank before opening valves
- Both parties supervise the unloading process until completion
8. Drain Residual Fuel
- Open bottom valve
- Open discharge valve
- Drain all remaining fuel from every compartment
- Both driver and receiving staff ensure complete drainage
9. Final Inspection
- Driver checks completion and records unloading time in the log sheet
- Receiving staff signs and dates the delivery document
- Driver exits the customer site after confirmation
